With fall fast approaching we are switching gears from a full rodeo schedule to preparing for the 2008 Central Plains Finals.  This year has been extremely busy for the 2008 CPRA royalty.

As you remember your 2008 royalty is Trissda Kohlhorst - Miss CPRA, Brittani May - Miss CPRA Princess, and  Mable Mestagh - Little Miss CPRA.  These young ladies started the New Year with a bang, by attending Equifest and the Pro Rodeo at the Kansas Coliseum. 

Then Brittani had the opportunity of a life time, she was able to attend the Denver stock Show and Western Market.  A cowgirl's shopping paradise, needless to say... she shopped till she dropped, but not without the help of Amanda Guthrie our pageant coordinator.

This spring the Miss CPRA committee and the North Optimist Club of Wichita sponsored a dinner and auction fundraiser for the current royalty.   Although the weather didn’t cooperate, there were a lot of great auction items and the food was incredible!   The money raised funded some of the traveling expenses for the girls and allowed the pageant committee to get a head start on plans for the upcoming pageant.

Now that summer is winding down and the rodeo schedule is slowing with Finals only weeks away, the CPRA Pageant committee is working hard on the final touches for this year’s event.  If you know a young lady who might be interested in competing she has until September 5 to send in an application.  More details including pageant dates and information, application and rules are posted on our website at www.cprapageant.com so check it out!   If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask!
