Pageant Dates

The 2008-2009 Miss CPRA Pageant will be held in conjunction with the CPRA Finals rodeo in Hutchinson, Ks at the State Fairgrounds & Hutch Community College on October 3-5, 2008.

Hotel Accommodations

Most hotels seem to be booked due to a softball tournament in town the same weekend. We will have open rooms available at the Kansas State Fair Grounds for $10 per person per night. They are very basic and not private rooms, but we will have mirrors and some other queen related items available! Call Amanda with questions.

Ticket & Ad Sales

Rodeo and drawing tickets will be available to sell this year. Advertisements are also a way for contestants to raise their ticket sales points and get money back to reimburse their expenses such as gas, hotel room and stall fee. Ads will start at $25 to have a business card size included in the activity books which will be used at the pageant, rodeo finals, and throughout the year by the new royalty. See Ad Receipt Form above for other advertising levels. Sponsors can also donate items to be used at the pageant that will count toward the contestants total money raised, but will not count toward 1/2 money back totals. Call if you have questions, because this is new!

Drawing Prizes

Judges:

Megan Strickler: Grew up on a cattle ranch in southeast Kansas. Around horses her entire life and riding since she was 5 years old. Trains and runs barrel horses and also takes part in women's ranch rodeo and team roping. Megan became involved with equine massage therapy in 2003 and has now been providing therapy to horses for 5 years.

Anna Luna: Currently the coordinator of the Plainville Saddle Club Queens and Princess Contests. Graduate of Fort Hays State, who majored in Agriculture with a minor in Communications. Worked at Liberty Ranch for six years and then at Midland Marketing COOP in Plainville. Married and lives on a ranch raising cattle and horses.

Kelly Casey: Resides in Tonganoxie, KS. Has shown western pleasure horses in AQHA and the Kansas State Horse Show Circuit (KSHSC) for over 23 years. Recently took over as the Vice President of KSHSC. Former Central Plains Rodeo Association queen and Abdallah Shrine Rodeo Queen. Currently works for Leavenworth County Development Corporation and will finish her Marketing degree in December 2008.
